Senior Booklet 2024

During the months of April-May, the journalism students have fun writing what we call the senior booklet.  For years, the kids have collected funny stories, sent out surveys, found pictures and compiled a senior souvenir that the Class of 2024 will pull out in the future and get a good laugh and enjoy their memories.

HS Book Club Joins Local Book Club for Fun

The HS book club and the local adult book club got together on Thursday, December 14th for an afternoon of fun.

Hostesses Mary Becker, Mary Jo Halstead, Kay Lohmiller, and Pat Scott shared how they run their book club meetings once a month, and how they choose books.  The HS kids enjoyed hearing what they have read and what they are planning to read in the near future.  Both groups went home a new list of future reads.

The HS kids shared about how our book club meetings work every other week, and books are chosen.

The theme of the HS book club this nine weeks was “Delicious Reads” so we planned an afternoon of holiday baking and cooking.

The four ladies each took 2 or three of the kids to make 4 different snacks that we shared before our time was up.  They made Russian tea cakes (Mexican wedding cake cookies), tortilla roll ups, peanut clusters with white chocolate drizzle, and an ice cream punch.

“We shared recipes and book suggestions and laughs.  I hope we can do something like this again next year,” said Mrs. Moninger.
