Students who eat nutritious, balanced diets are better prepared to learn and succeed in school.

The USD 489 Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. The food service staff support learning by providing access to healthy, affordable meals to students in each school building. Meals are designed to provide variety and assist in developing life-long healthy eating habits. Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand!

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
