Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

Yadkin County School Nutrition is excited to announce that we will be participating in Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in several of our schools for the 2023-2024 school year (see below for a list of schools).  The Community Eligibility Provision is a voluntary meal service option for schools and school districts in low-income areas and is a key provision of The Healthy Hungry Free Kids Act (HHFKA) of 2010.  This provision allows all students enrolled in the eligible school to receive breakfast and lunch meals at no cost.

Schools Operating CEP:

Boonville Elementary, Courtney Elementary, East Bend Elementary, Jonesville Elementary, Starmount Middle, West Yadkin Elementary, Yadkinville Elementary and Yadkin Success Academy

School Breakfast: Breakfast is vitally important for school-aged children. The American Academy of Pediatrics associates breakfast with better memory, higher test scores, and improved overall nutrition. Yadkin County Schools is committed to providing a variety of hot and cold breakfast items that will keep rumbling tummies to a minimum as students learn and grow in and out of the classroom.

Free/Reduced Applications: Families who believe they may qualify for free/reduced-priced meals are encouraged to complete an application for benefits. Only one application is needed per household. Visit https://linqconnect.com to complete an application or click on the Linq Connect icon located on the upper left hand side of this page. A limited number of paper applications will be available in the school nutrition office. For questions on how to complete an application, call (336) 551-1100, ext 1033.

Payments: Pre-pay for meals by sending cash or check to school with your student OR pay online by credit card when using the online pre-payment center. The online payment center provides a no cost option for viewing your students meal account which allows you to track purchases, set up balance notifications, and more!  Go to https://linqconnect.com to pre-pay using your credit card (additional charges may apply).
