CCAA Music Contest

On Thursday, March 7, JHS hosted the CCAA Music Contest.  Musicians and vocalists from Jamestown and Prairie Home and attended.  The Jamestown Jr. High/H.S. Band performed first in the gym and they did an amazing job and received a I rating.  The Jr. High Mixed Choir, Jr. High Boys Choir and Jr. High Girls Choir performed next in the cafeteria. The H.S. Mixed Choir and H.S. Girls Double Trio followed the Jr. High.  After the groups performed, the students moved on to instrumental and vocal solos.  Everyone did an amazing job!   Bravo, Eagles and Mrs. Lieser! 

Two JHS FFA Greenhands selected for HYMAX

Freshmen Greenhands, Sophia Griffin and Clara Baepler were selected to attend the Helping Youth Maximize their Agricultural eXperience (HYMAX) Academy this summer at Camp Rising Sun at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Up to 100 current freshmen from across the state of Missouri are selected through an application process.  The academy provides hands-on experiences to prepare them to communicate, lead and advocate for agriculture as well as bring home tools to help their chapter achieve greater success.  It is a great honor for these two students to be selected.  Great job, Eagles!  

Three Jamestown FFA members to received State Degree

Graduates, Emma Baepler and Skyler Duncan, along with Senior, Henry Hirschvogel will receive their State FFA degree at the State Convention held April 17-19 in Columbia.  Congratulations, Eagles!

Academic All-State Softball Team

Jamestown had ten ladies qualify for the Academic All-State Softball team.  In order for an individual to qualify for the Academic All-State team, they must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.70 after the fall semester.  

A team is awarded the distinction of an Academic All-State Team if the varsity team has a cumulative unweighted grade point average of 3.3 or better.  The Lady Eagles, as a group, earned the title of an Academic All-State Team with an average GPA of 3.68. 

  Well done, Ladies!  Congratulations!

Baepler Competes at Districts

Update: Marie placed 8th at Districts and earned a medal in Accounting I.  She will have to wait to see if she will move on to State.  Great job, Eagle!!

Marie Baepler placed in the top ten in Accounting I to qualify to compete at FBLA Districts on February 2nd.  


Shop with a Cop Fundraiser

For the second year, JHS students participated in a fundraiser to benefit the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department Shop With A Cop program.  Nurse Lynnette organized a Kiss The Pig fundraiser.  The top three classes to raise the most money got to pick a staff member to kiss a pig.  Kindergarten, 5th grade and the Seniors were the classes that raised the most.  Mrs. Traver, Dr. Guitard and Gary Jones were the staff members chosen to kiss the pig at an assembly prior to Thanksgiving break. The total amount raised was $1,031.82.  Way to go, Eagles!

NHS Trash Pick-up

During the month of October, the Jamestown C-1 National Honor Society completed their fall trash pickup.  In total, 12 members collected trash along Highway 179 from the Highway 87 turn off into town.  Great job, Eagles!

Meet Our New Staff

Mrs. Amber Bouse

Principal

Mrs. Amber Bouse is excited to begin her journey as Principal at Jamestown C-1. She considers it an honor to lead a school with such stellar students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. She feels fortunate to be part of Jamestown School and excited to support the students, families, and community. 

This will be her 9th year in education, working with students in kindergarten through 6th grades for the past 8 years. Mrs. Bouse started her formal education earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Early Childhood, from Drury University. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology at Drury University and Specialist Degree in Administration at William Woods University. She was a member of the Aspiring Leadership Program at Camdenton Schools in 2023-2024. She has served on numerous leadership committees over the years including the building leadership team, attendance committee, parent advisory board, MSTA liaison, and CSIP team. 

Mrs. Bouse is excited that serving as Principal at Jamestown will provide her the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Jamestown teachers and staff, while also remaining connected to students learning and growing in the classroom.  She is looking forward to working with the staff and community as a partner in education and facilitating the growth of instructional practices at Jamestown.

She currently resides in Camdenton, MO with my husband and youngest son. She has two amazing sons (Logan and Braeden) who have taught her that every child is uniquely different. In her spare time, she loves reading, kayaking, hiking, and enjoying time with family and friends. She grew up in a small rural community and spent her high school years active in the FFA/Vo-Ag program and raising farm animals.

Ms. Makayla Friend

3rd Grade Teacher

Ms. Makayla Friend is from Lake Ozark, MO. She graduated from School of the Osage and earned her degree from Central Methodist University. This will be her first year teaching and she so excited for the opportunity. When she is not working, Ms. Friend will most likely finding something to create or learning a new skill.
