Students Learn About Local Businesses

Students Learn About Local Businesses Mrs. Daughenbaugh's 8th-grade students have recently finished creating a book about local businesses. This year, several business owners visited the school to be interviewed by the students. These interviews provided the students with the chance to ask questions, improve their speaking skills, and learn more about their community. Please click the link to access the book.

Music Trip Gift Carries Special Meaning for Scheider Family

Music Trip Gift Carries Special Meaning for Scheider Family On Nov. 27, the Scheider Family generously donated $1,000 in memory of Le-Win Alumnus Terry Scheider to sponsor a student for the 2024 Le-Win Music Trip.

Janice (pictured with LWHS Principal Ann DeZell) explained the donation was a fitting way to honor her late husband, who passed away in January 2022. Le-Win Music Programs have meant a great deal to the Scheider Family. Terry himself was active in the Lena-Winslow Marching Band, as well as their three children and a grandchild. The family hopes that this gift will ensure a student who might otherwise not be able to experience the trip can do so.

“We understand what it can be like to do without, and those music trips were special to our family,” said Janice. “We’re excited to help someone who needs it. Years from now, perhaps this student will look back on this experience and be able to do the same for another.”

Looking to help this holiday season?

Due to record travel costs, the Music Boosters are working to offset the trip expenses and make it affordable for the students. The public can help by sponsoring or purchasing a ticket for the Dec. 15 Holiday Variety Showcase to take place at 7 p.m. in the Panther Den. For details, contact Jody Schumacher, Music Booster President, at 608-347-3709 or visit the “Le-Win Music Boosters” Facebook page for details.
