Dear MPLSD Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
As elected members of this community, it is our responsibility to ensure all children of MPLSD receive the best possible education, while being good stewards of taxpayer dollars.  We are facing an important moment in the history of our District and are looking for as much community input as possible.

Since 2020 we have held numerous public meetings in an effort to engage our community and discuss the current state of our facilities.  The Board is currently considering using District funds for the purpose of constructing new facilities.

Dear Madison-Plains Local School District Parents and Guardians,

The safety and security of our students and staff is the top priority within the Madison-Plains Local School District.  To that end, this afternoon, Friday, April 04, 2025, we conducted safety drills on our campus with our students and staff.  The purpose for conducting these drills was to review, practice, and enhance our emergency preparedness procedures.  Law enforcement and other county officials were invited to campus to observe and provide feedback to us, as well.

MPHS Drama Club Presents: Trial of the Wicked Witch

You and your family are cordially invited to join the cast and crew as they produce the family friendly musical, "Trial of the Wicked Witch: The Musical"!

The cast and crew is comprised of students in grades 7-12.  Ten are in grades 7 or 8.  Twenty-one are making their debut on the boards at Madison-Plains.  They have worked very hard, as a team, to make this production the best that they are able.  It will mean so much to them to see their current and past teachers, aids, drivers, custodians, lunch ladies, etc. in the audience.

Madison-Plains Powerlifting Tradition 2025

The Madison-Plains Powerlifting Tradition Teams traveled to Kenton this past Saturday, March 15th, for the Bill McClain Ohio High School State Powerlifting Meet. Let's open up by saying thanks for the support from coaches, teachers, parents, school board, administrators, and the community of Madison-Plains Local School District. The Madison-Plains Powerlifting Tradition Teams have been around since 2011.   The program consists of our school athletes that train in the weight room year round which is the foundation of winning in life and winning championships.    Our lifters consist of football, wrestling, basketball, both girls and guys, volleyball, baseball, softball, track, cheerleaders, and just the lifter that is a powerlifter.

Statewide Tornado Drill

Statewide Tornado Drill

As you may be aware, this week, March 16 – 22, 2025, is Ohio’s Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week, and each year during this week, the Ohio Emergency Management Agency and National Weather Service conduct a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday morning at 9:50 a.m., and schools are encouraged to participate in this drill.  Please know that MPLSD did participate in this state-wide drill this morning in our respective school buildings so that our staff and students could rehearse what to do in case of a tornado.

Gifted Achievement

Top 100
MPLSD students who are gifted achieved among the highest achievement scores in the state in the spring of 2019, ranking in the top 100 districts and earning a 117.6 performance index score out of 120 possible points.  They also had the highest achievement in Madison County.
