Mission Statement
Our Mission is to provide safe nutritious meals and outstanding service that enhances the educational process for all students in our district.
Department Facts
Good nutrition starts with healthy, well-balanced meals, but our commitment does not end with the menus. Our goal is to provide nutrition education to students so that they will have an opportunity to make healthy food decisions for a lifetime. All of our menus are served in compliance with state and federal regulations. A nutritional analysis ensures that our meals meet the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) which is 1/4 the nutrients for breakfast and 1/3 of the nutrients for lunch. Age specific levels for calories are met so that no more than 30% of calories are from fat and no more than 10% of calories are from saturated fat.
Menus are published monthly on this website or you may pick one up in the Food Service Office at the Elementary Site.
Pixley Union School District students are served breakfast and lunch at no charge for the 2023-2024 school year due to the fact that we are an approved Community Eligibility program provider.
Breakfast after the bell is offered at our Middle School Site and the Elementary Site participates in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program .
