Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. All meals, foods and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

*ACS Food Services menu design for elementary & intermediate breakfast and lunch shows the menu cycle with each week color coded.  Below the menu is a calendar of the current school year with corresponding color coding to show which week of the menu cycle we are currently serving.  This color coding system allows students and families to know what week of the menu cycle is being served for any given week of the school year.  The calendar below the menu also shows school breaks.  If you have any questions regarding the menu, please contact Food Services.

The Anderson Community School’s Food Service Department will only accommodate dietary/menu changes for Life Threatening Allergies.  A Life-Threatening Allergy (LTA) is defined as: food allergies that may result in severe, life-threatening (anaphylactic) reactions.

All necessary paper work (link below) must be completed and signed by the guardian and physician in order for us to make any dietary changes for your students

Please mail or email the completed documentation back to us OR bring to the Administrative Office at 1600 Hillcrest Ave. Anderson, IN 46011.  *Note:  If documentation is already on file for your child, then we do not need a new form completed each school year.

Upon receipt of your completed documentation, a Registered Dietitian will add an allergy alert to your student’s lunch account.  A special diet menu may need to be created for some students.  This is determined on a case by case basis.  Any special diet menus that are created will be communicated with the cafeteria manager and school nurse.  The process may take up to 10 business days from the time we receive your documentation.  Plan on sending a lunch with your student until this process is complete.

We have seen a dramatic increase in food allergies with our students.  Our goal is to keep our students safe and give top priority to students with life threatening allergies.

Anderson Community Schools Food Service Department will accommodate your child's specific dietary needs to the best of our ability. However, ACSC cannot guarantee your child's safety from all foods and is not responsible for your child's decision to consume food outside of their dietary order.

If your child no longer requires a special diet accommodation, please fill out the specified form below to discontinue.
